DOT Medical Card Examinations and Testing

The Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) requires drivers of commercial motor vehicles (CMVs) to undergo routine physical examinations, known as Department of Transportation (DOT) medical exams. These examinations are highly regulated to ensure driver safety and are designed to identify physical, mental, and emotional conditions that may impact a driver’s ability to safely operate a commercial vehicle.

Dr. Julie Schmidt is a certified medical examiner listed on the National Registry of Certified Medical Examiners and is also certified in DOT Drug and Alcohol Testing. She is specially trained in FMCSA regulations and works to ensure drivers are evaluated accurately and not improperly disqualified.
